Apple Reveals AI Camera Pin Device Development Underway
The compact gadget measures approximately the size of an AirTag and sports a sleek, flat circular form factor constructed from aluminum and glass materials, sources indicate.
According to the report, the speculated AI-powered pin will pack dual camera lenses—one standard and one wide-angle—alongside a trio of microphones, an integrated speaker, a physical button on its side, and capabilities for wireless charging.
Development remains in preliminary phases, with a potential market debut slated for as soon as 2027. Apple reportedly plans an ambitious initial production run targeting up to 20 million units upon release, the report states.
The Silicon Valley company isn't alone in pursuing AI-centric hardware innovation. OpenAI is developing its own device under the leadership of former Apple design chief Jony Ive, with a 2026 release window anticipated.
The AI wearable space has seen notable failures, including US startup Humane's AI Pin, which flopped commercially and has since been discontinued.
